Arrow Shorts tunnels Rochester, a few times over.

Shorts tunnels is a massive complex of tunnels under Rochester in Kent. They were used as a sea plane factory, Air raid shelters and offices. I have been here a few times and I only go back to somewhere that much if it is a great explore...It is a good one for newbies to start off with, I think the rumors about needing a guide are a bit far fetched ....it would only take you a few hours of getting unlost again I think. It has one of the longest tunnels I have been down also with a lot of artifacts left, like office equipment, papers, truck parts, gates and doors, but sadly due to a resent fire one of the main attractions was lost. There is also WW2 graffiti down here, some kids drawings and some more advanced depicting celebrates from the era and planes even coffins and pictures of Hitler.........

The Long tunnel at shorts, this is a great one for light painting.

Some of the graffiti, And also a sign on the wall from the air raid shelters

The larger tunnels are varied in size, some are massive underground rooms to house plane parts, for the shorts sunderland seaplane to be built in then put together outside.

Things you can find in shorts.....

I will probably be going back here again, can't seem to stay way from it, this photo was taken using really bad plastic toy guns and a non toxic smoke match as props.........

Thank you for looking by and there are more photos of this place on my flickr page.

Some great light painting there.

"Shorts" is a poorly fitting name I take it?

Looks like a great location! Some very nice pictures there too!

I love the light painting in the first few and the one of the bottle!
