I've been down to sunny Wiltshire a fair few times recently, enjoying the pleasant countryside but largely enjoying the stuff below her, in particular numerous Bath stone mines. Mining of Bath Stone at Box dates back to the Roman era and ceased in the late 1960s with a peak in production during the 19th century, today it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due its huge bat population and its vast size makes it a popular haunt for mine explorers.
