Arrow Bell Baxter Highschool, Fife, Scotland July 2010

Visited with Mole last weekend. We'd planned on making our way to Edinburgh, but we never got that far. Our first stop was the Bell Baxter High School. We'd seen a report on it from only a year or so ago, which you can see here: http://www.urbexforums.co.uk/showthr...ht=bell+baxter

Boy, what a difference a year makes. The place looks completely different now. It's completely stripped out, virtually nothing left inside. Almost all the rooms are completely and utterly empty, with only a few small things nobody cared to steal remaining.

The only addition to the building since that last thread is metal mesh plating over every single ground floor door and window, and all roof windows. This made getting inside rather difficult, but we managed it eventually. The access for this place is now extremely dangerous; it involves standing on corragated plastic, held up by 1 small piece of wood. I'm amazed it didn't collapse beneath us - though it did sag an awful lot. I'd honestly say it isn't worth the trouble, there's so little left inside now.

With all that said, on to the pictures.

I laughed my ass off at this. Poor bird

Boiler room underneath the main school. Looks like few people have managed to find this, which isn't surprising. The entrance is in a really odd place, and we found it completely by accident after we thought we'd been everywhere.

    Still fully stocked with coal.

It's a pity it's been stripped out, but I suspected as much when I heard that it had been boarded up and skips had appeared outside.

I chortled at the bird imprint too!

Good work getting in, it looked damn tight with the steel sheets when I drove by. The old coal fired boilers look good.

Getting in was a lot easier than getting out, i found that out the hard way.

    Yeah, so did I.

I spent several years thinking of ways NOT to access it. With some success I might add.

Good one finding a way in here - stripped but still looks good. Yes an important lesson, exit is as important as access - Ive walked away from a few places where I could have got in, getting out looked the problem. Then theres always getting boarded into a place that adds interest.
I like this school and the few times Ive done a drive round of it I considered it very tight.
I love the room full of forgotten coal.

A few more from me, it always takes me ages to get around to processing pics i have several hundred from the last few months waiting to be looked at.

Wish i took some pictures of the giant orange death mushroom on the lower floor it was absolutely huge, but even with that door slightly open the air smelled like it was tearing your lungs apart with dampness.

Brilliant stuff, this has always been one of the tougher places to gain access to I think. Good photos guys.
