Arrow Thelsons Oil pier, near Alexander Dock, Hull. Nov 2008

I know it's been done before, but I wanted to put my two penn'orth in please!

The old Thelson Marine Oils pier near Alexander Dock in Hull. Once used as a berthing spot for tankers to discharge straight onto trains, now in serious disrepair. the concrete walkway has subsided into the river in only the last year or so, angling the train lines like this. It probably will be entirely inaccessible in a short while. A rusting, rotting, dilapidated beauty. Thelson oils also distributed road maps in the thirties..

It's also known as "Dead Bod Jetty", and a well known landmark for navigators of the Humber!

    anyways, here's the pics..

I've been here, and love the runaway rollercoaster train tracks. I love the skies on your pictures and well done for braving the crossing. Second photo is very good.

I love this place. The second shot is a stunner mate, probably the best I've seen of that view.

    thanks folks, much appreciated...

yes, three exposures blended using photomatix.. I don't like HDR when it's overblown, but I do feel it can bring out the best when used subtly....

finally a shot I'm proud of!

Very nice fella, but the pictures are HUGE! about 640px wide is enough.
