Brackla RGHQ - May 2011

A quick visit to the former Royal Ordanance 8X's at Brackla in Wales but my main focus was the two that were converted to Nuclear Bunkers in 1960. They are both still in very good condition with Bunker No1 in private use and used as a location for BBC Wales for things such as Doctor Who.

One thing I noticed is that alot of the 8X's still have fully intact tunnels running 150-200ft back into the Hill which are accesible, but its a two man affair for safety so if anyone is up for a re-visit and underground Ex then let me know. I am also in talks with the site owner about accessing the RGHQ buildings.

Any news on access from the owners ? ive been looking into this myself as i know these tunnels like the back of my hand, many years as a child playing in and around these tunnels and my my grandfather help build them in the 40s plus was a security guard there for years only up until recently.
