Hi Folks - this was done yesterday - right after Midland Road Mills. Not as good as Midland Road but definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately I have only just learned how to use my camera on full manual and some of the pictures are not that great - still having problems shooting anything with a sky it it!
Anywho - not a great deal of history on the place and it was more of a three site visit as there are several abandoned buildings on and around the site so please forgive the bittiness of the report. The only information I can find on the building is that it was burned down in June 2010. The actual Mill itself is in a very bad way and looks to be on the point of collapse very soon.
Here goes:
We visited via this building which appears to have been a bed-making factory...
Inside it looks as though it has not been empty for long...
And then I spot the subject on my desire through the window...
We head out of the factory and make our way over a huge amount of bricks to the mill itself - although it appears that this is a chapel on the side of it. Hope someone can help me out with the history of this part?
Inside the chapel you can clearly see the damage the fire has caused...
We moved onto the Mill itself...
Inside you can clearly see how badly damaged it is - the side walls looks to be on the point of collapse and the floor above looks to be ready to fall in completely...
We then had a wee meander round the other buildings - this one used to be a an antique glass studio - although it had clearly been reused as some kind of office more lately...
Another little building along side the Mill...
Finally we head back over to where we came from...

Thanks for looking!
