Me and Esposa spotted this while stopped at services coming home from Mid Wales Asylum. Can't tell you anything about it other than it's on the A40 in Herefordshire and all the stuff looks to be pre early 80's:confused:

Octopus,

You'd be surprised how often stuff changes in there when i drove past a couple of weeks back that big wheel was complete and being worked on i think its a showman's work yard rather than a grave yard it's usually packed during the winter months,

It is...just down the road at Symonds Yat West is the fairground where these rides go from and to. The bloke's sons all own fairground rides too.

Don't know if you were buying diesel at that garage? The same guy got done for selling red diesel with the dye bleached out of it not so long ago :)

That's great Mex! Have you ever looked closely at the state of some fairground rides? They don't look too bad compared to some :jester

Just been reading about a recent accident at a fair in London, and a spokesman for the showman's guild claims this is the first fatal accident at a fairground for ten years. I can think of a few nasty accidents, and I am concerned about riding some stuff now because it is often those at the safety restraint's limit who seem to cop it (fatties). Although a ride on a booster after a day of drinking at dorset steam fair really is spectacular. All those blurry lights and the wind wizzing past.

Yet regarding permanent theme parks, I can think of two fatal accidents without trying (wild mouse, Lightwater valley, Hydra, oakwood) .

Most people seem to consider the theme park a safer option.

I don't think they can secure it where it is, it's right next to the garage, not sure if the staff are supposed to keep an eye on it but we were in there a good half hour and nobody said anything.

Nice shots! :thumb

I used to love fairground rides as a child...much to the dismay of my overprotective father who forced himself to go on with me in case I got too scared. I'm not against the idea as a grown up but I would much rather spend my money on urbexing trips.
